A man riding a skateboard has died after being hit by a truck in Moe last night.

Police say both the truck and the rider were heading east along Narracan Drive in Moe just after 7pm last night when the truck hit the rider.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but died a short time later.

The truck driver stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.
