Leigh Matthews has weighed in on last night’s Brownlow Medal count, which saw Brisbane Lions midfielder Lachie Neale take home his second medal, taking a lot of people by surprise including himself.

Neale admitted to being “rattled” in his interview with Hamish McLachlan after winning, but Matthews said it’s “what the Brownlow is all about” as it’s the umpires award.

He also outlined what he believes to be the most credible award in the AFL.
