Four people have been taken to hospital after a serious crash in Upwey.

Just before midday yesterday, a black Suzuki sedan veered onto the wrong side of the road on Main Street and collided with a blue Hyundai i30 sedan near Kia Ora Avenue, with the force of the collision pushing the Hyundai into a power pole.

The driver of the Hyundai, a pregnant 42-year-old woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, along with her three-year-old passenger.

The 18-year-old male Suzuki driver was taken to hospital for observation, with his 17-year-old male passenger seriously injured in the crash.
