An Indigenous elder has commented on the controversial comments made by Sam Newman regarding booing at the AFL during the welcome to country.

Wurundjeri Indigenous elder, Ian Hunter, says a “brawl” could break out if people do what Newman is suggesting.

“It is really controversial, but as far the … integrity of it, it’s losing it, this welcome to country,” he told Shane McInnes, filling in for Tom Elliott.
