Expert sounds alarm over surge in childhood diabetes diagnoses
Doctors are seeing a national increase of type two diabetes in children as young as 15.
Some of the risk factors include obesity and mothers who have diabetes during pregnancy.
Endocrinologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, Professor John Wentworth, told Mark Allen and Jimmy Bartel, type two diabetes in children “causes nasty problems down the track”.
