The survey result that’s left the CFA chief officer ‘alarmed’
CFA chief officer Jason Heffernan says he’s “alarmed” by the the results of a recent study on community sentiment towards bushfire risk.
The CFA has been conducting the study since 2009, and the most recent result reveals 31 per cent of Victorians living in high bushfire risk areas say they’re “going to wait for emergency authorities to tell them what to do before they do anything” in the event of a fire.
“That means they could be putting their lives at risk,” he told Tom Elliott.
