The legal battle is far from over for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, despite Swedish prosecutors dropping rape charges against him.

British police say he’s still wanted in Britain for jumping bail in 2012 and if he leaves the Ecuadorian embassy in London, he could still be extradited to the United States over leaking military documents.

Professor of International Law, Donald Rothwell, has told 3AW’s Sunday Morning Assange still has great concerns on leaving the Ecuadorian embassy.

“Perhaps more worryingly for Assange, back in April we had the US Attorney General and the director of the CIA indicating that they were very closely looking at WikiLeaks activities,” said Rothwell.

“President Trump has apparently endorsed that kind of investigation.”
