Constitutional law expert on the Voice referendum ‘tick’ debate
Following clarification about what is accepted as a “yes” or “no” vote for the upcoming Voice referendum, there’s been a push to remove the ability to answer “yes” with a “tick.”
Constitutional law expert at the University of Sydney, Anne Toomey, says there is precedent for the government to remove the “tick” as an option.
“You’d want to go back and find out why precisely why, but we have chosen different ways of voting in a referendum,” she told Neil Mitchell.
