The first public probe into the Commonwealth Games is underway in Melbourne today, after the state government sensationally pulled out of hosting the games last month.

Commonwealth Games CEO Craig Phillips is among the first witnesses to front the Senate inquiry, with former Tourism and Sports Minister Martin Pakula set to front the inquiry at at 2pm today.

3AW news reporter Denis O’Kane spoke to Neil Mitchell on the latest update, with the 3AW Mornings host stating there is one thing that “intrigues” him on the inquiry.
