Neil Mitchell: Why the Malka Leifer investigation is ‘not over — not by a long shot’
Former principal of the Adass Israel School in Elsternwick, Malka Leifer, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for sexually abusing and raping two girls.
But Neil Mitchell says the investigation is “not over — not by a long shot”.
Police are now investigating whether members of the school community helped Leifer flee to Israel just hours after she was accused of sexual abuse of children. Leifer claimed she was too mentally ill to be extradited, dragging out legal proceedings.
