Australian Education Union Victorian Branch President, Meredith Peace, has delivered a passionate plea to Premier Daniel Andrews to “act now” to address the “dramatic” teacher shortage in the state.

Ms Peace claimed the teacher shortage is impacting public schools “very significantly” with classrooms sizes blowing out and even school principals needing to fill in for absent teachers.

“The Premier needs to stand up, listen and actually invest in some solutions quickly, because this problem will only get worse in the years to come if they don’t act now,” Ms Peace told Neil Mitchell.
