Australians not getting enough sleep, Dr Michael Carr-Gregg gives five tips
A sleep epidemic is dragging down the nation’s productivity.
Too many Australians are either sleeping poorly or just not enough each night.
The Sleep Foundation has found up to 45 per cent of adults are in the grip of the so-called sleep epidemic, which risks our mental health and wellbeing.
Using the internet right before bedtime is thought to be one major contributor.
59 per cent of late night web surfers have more than two sleep problems.
Dr Michael Carr-Gregg gave five tips on how to get a better night’s sleep on 3AW Mornings.
- Dim all lights 30 minutes before bed.
- Don’t brush your teeth in a room with incandescent lights.
- No coffee after midday.
- Make sure your bedroom is cool in temperature.
- Try and go to bed and wake up at the same time every day.
