The first train has taken to the tracks in the Metro Tunnel, kicking off months of testing.

The tunnel is due to open in early 2025, but sustainability and urban planning professor at RMIT, Andrew Butt, says he “wouldn’t be surprised if a bit of a good news story comes out that it’s a little bit earlier”.
