Part-owner of ice cream shop Dessertopia by 196below in South Melbourne, Glenn Storey, has vented his frustration at the Port Phillip council as rubbish for his shop and other shops has not been picked up yet.

Mr Storey put his rubbish out on Clarendon Street on Sunday night but it’s still out on the street today, and he claims businesses “just have to keep piling it up unfortunately”.

“This is the worst it’s been,” Mr Storey told Neil Mitchell.

The Mayor of the City of Phillip, Councillor Heather Consolo, then provided an update on the debacle, claiming the council is seeing “great improvement” in relation to the system glitch which left numerous bins uncollected.
