Melbourne forward Tom McDonald has provided a timeline for when he hopes to return from ankle surgery.

McDonald went under the knife five weeks ago, and said he’s “getting there slowly” in his recovery.

He also commented on how he reacted to Brodie Grundy being dropped from the side, and how going back to the VFL can really help players regain form and confidence.
