‘Risk is real’: Residents on edge as major dam nears max capacity
Residents are on edge as Lake Eppalock water levels reach near max capacity sparking concerns of a repeat of the floods that devastated parts of Victoria in October last year.
Former mayor of Campaspe Shire, Leigh Wilson, says the dam is now at 99.2 per cent capacity.
“Lake Eppalock doesn’t have a mechanism to release water quickly in the event of any storm, the concern … is the risk of another storm event which will spill … and flood the town,” he told Neil Mitchell.
