A Channel 7 reporter faced a dilemma after finding a birthday cake in her hotel room.

Laurel Irving had just checked into her room in Thailand when she decided she needed a hit of sugar.

Her search led her to an elaborate birthday cake in the fridge.

‘It ain’t my birthday, so I was very confused,’ she told Ross and John on Thursday.

Laurel said she agonised over what to do with the cake for a while before deciding to take a nibble.

‘I was a bit worried about the stomach consequences later, but I’m fit as a fiddle!’
