A 27-year-old aged care worker has been assaulted in a vile attack at a retirement home in Aspendale Gardens.

Police have been told a man entered the Wells Road premises at about 7.30am on July 6 and punched a female worker several times in the head and upper body before fleeing.

The victim sustained brusing and scratches in the nasty attack.
