The drought-resistant shrub supporting farmers during dry times

Sheep and cattle farmers across the country’s southeast are planting a feed supplement to help shore-up supply during dryer months.

Anameka Saltbush is a drought-tolerant native shrub developed by the CSIRO and its government and industry partners over 15 years ago.

Rural editor Sophie Clarke caught up with agricultural scientist Hayley Norman to hear more about the resource that, once established, can become a “living haystack” for grazing livestock.
