Queensland is offering drivers a $500 engine immobliser subsidy to prevent their cars from being stolen.

Chief executive officer of Motor Trade Association Queensland, Rod Camm, says other states should look at following in Queensland’s footsteps.

“The first part of the program has got to be educating car owners not to leave your keys on the counter, to secure them … certainly after that, you would think technology can help us here,” he told Heidi Murphy, filling in for Tom Elliott.
