A federal parliamentary inquiry is recommending a levy to be funded by gambling companies for rehab centres.

Director of policy and campaigns at Financial Counselling Australia, Lauren Levin, says Australia is leading the world in online gambling and it’s causing a lot of harm.

“I’ve been looking at what some overseas countries are doing … and it’s established … when an industry is causing a lot of harm, they pay for the cost of it,” she told Tom Elliott, filling for Neil Mitchell.
