‘Brutal’ pension change sparks concerns
The pension age will go up to 67 from July 1 leaving union bosses concerned some workers will struggle to survive as they’ll be left working longer.
The national secretary at the CFMEU, Zach Smith, says the change will have a massive impact on the retirement decisions of workers.
“The prospect of working for two more years, is after a career of highly intensive labouring environment, is brutal,” he told Heidi Murphy, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
