Some Victorians say they’ve been put off from applying for a digital licence after a major bungle in the rollout of the state’s first digital driver’s licences.

VicRoads has apologized this morning after a serious error which saw thousands of Ballarat motorists sent emails— which were addressed to the wrong names — inviting them to register their interest.

VicRoads says it’s aware of the mistake and “the error is limited to an incorrect name on the direct email and no other personal information has been disclosed”.

CEO of VicRoads Registration and Licensing Services, Dean Tillotson, then spoke on how the stuff up happened and how many people were affected.
