The Prime Minister has paid tribute to former Labor leader Simon Crean, who has died at the age of 74.

Speaking to Heidi Murphy, filling in for Neil Mitchell, Anthony Albanese said Mr Crean “is someone who made such an incredible difference”.

“Simon … was a source of advice,” he said. “I think he would have been a very good prime minister.”
