The bayside suburb touted as the second Surfers Paradise
Following news community groups are at odds with plans to revitalise Frankston, the city’s mayor Nathan Conroy, says he knows people are unhappy but there is demand for high-density living.
“We know that immigration is going to come in, regardless of if you like it or not, we need to plan ahead,” he told Tom Elliott.

Councillor Conroy says the council approved a structural framework providing “more certainty” for developers, businesses and the community.
“If you want to buy a piece of land in Frankston you know exactly what you’re getting,” he said.
Currently two planned high-end apartment buildings are before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and a decision will be made later this month.
