What the ACCC want done to deal with airline customer complaints
The Australian Competition and Consumption Commission (ACCC) are calling for the federal government to establish an independent agency with an ombudsman to deal with customer complaints related to airlines.
ACCC chair, Gina Cass-Gottlieb, says an external ombudsman would make “binding decisions” and also have “compulsory powers to get the information that they need” if an airline can’t resolve the complaint.
They are also calling for airlines to be issued a fee if they cancel a flight.
