An ingredient extracted from an Australian-produced garlic could be the key to helping fight off COVID-19 and the flu.

Researchers at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity examined extracts from more than 20 types of garlic and found one variety could consistently reduce how infectious both COVID-19 and influenza A were in a laboratory setting.
