Victoria’s top roads cop says he’s taking the heightened road toll “personally”, after a horror crash which left three teenagers and a woman dead.

The crash on Saturday morning at Bochara, 300km west of Melbourne, killed four people and left a fifth — a 17-year-old girl — fighting for life.

Assistant Commissioner for Road Policing, Glenn Weir, shared a passionate message to Victorians after the horror smash.

“We can’t be everywhere at once … we need the community to come with us,” Weir told Neil Mitchell.

This year, 130 people have been killed on Victoria’s roads, up from 96 at the same time last year.
