Legendary AFL commentator Sandy Roberts has spoken on his cancer diagnosis, revealing it’s been an “interesting” 12 months.

Roberts was diagnosed last May with a blood cancer called myeloma, but only went public with the news yesterday.

Professor Andrew Spencer, who has helped treat Roberts in the past year, said there’s a “huge range of outcomes” from myeloma.

Roberts says “it’s not personal, it’s more about raising awareness” for Myeloma Australia, which currently has no federal government funding.
