A top Melbourne barrister is taking Qantas to court over “corporate theft”.

Former Victorian Crown prosecutor, Gavin Silbert KC, received a $5900 credit from the airline for flights cancelled due to COVID-19.

But he told Neil Mitchell Qantas has “completely and utterly ignored” his attempts to redeem the credit, so he’s going to court.

“It deserves to be publicised, what’s going on,” he said.

“I’d just love to give this evidence in an open court because it’s just absolutely disgraceful.”

3AW Mornings has contacted Qantas for comment and is awaiting a response.
