The ‘main reason’ there will be a surplus in tonight’s federal budget
The federal government has forecast a surplus in tonight’s federal budget for the first time in 15 years.
Economist and managing director at Market Economics, Stephen Koukoulas, told Ross and Russel “They’ve found that money and they’re using the bulk of it to reduce debt”.
Mr Koukoulas says a variety of factors have contributed to the surplus, but there’s one “main reason” which explains it.
