Tourism in the Northern Territory is “hanging by a thread” according to locals, with the much-publicised breakdown in law and order at Alice Springs spreading to Australia’s most iconic tourist site.

Young gangs are causing chaos at Uluru, with tourists being mugged and attacked in public.

“It is crazy,” Darren Clark, who runs the Alice for Action community group, told Neil Mitchell.
