Road safety professor says ‘default’ urban speed limit remains ‘too high’
Tom Elliott has clashed with a road safety professor over urban speed limits.
Professor Raphael Grzebieta, from the Transport and Road Safety Research Unit at University of New South Wales, said the default of 50km/h was “too high” and it should be 40km/h.
Tom Elliott fears it will only lead to the limit being reduced again to 30km/h.
