An Extinction Rebellion protester has scaled the spire at the Arts Centre.

Today Show reporter at the Arts Centre, Izabella Staskowski, says he’s “putting a sign all over it and he is going to have that sign drop in the next 30 or so minutes, and then he is going to light a flare”.

Other protesters are standing at beside the Arts Centre with banners.

The protest comes ahead of planned Extinction Rebellion disruptive protests planned across the CBD from May 25 to May 27.
