Lieutenant-Governor of Victoria, James Angus, honoured the more than 100,000 Australians who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in armed conflicts.

“Their sacrifice is our inheritance, and as the inheritors of Anzac Day we have an obligation to never forget the past sacrifices that made possible our future,” he said.

In the suburbs, there were also huge turnouts for services honouring the Australians who have served and sacrificed.
