Outgoing AFL CEO Gil McLachlan has indicated Adelaide is in the box seat to host Gather Round again in 2024.

All 18 clubs have descended on South Australia for nine games in three days across three different venues.

All games have now been sold out.

“Adelaide just feels the right spot,” McLachlan told Tony Jones on 3AW Mornings.

“The fact that it’s in the middle of Australia and people can drive from Melbourne, you can get here from Perth pretty easily – there’s so many West Australians here.

“And there’s people from everywhere, that’s a pretty strong asset as well.”

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas thanked Victorians for travelling to the big event.

“It’s all come together an absolute treat,” he said on 3AW Mornings.

“A lot of people are coming across the border and we’re wrapt about it.”
