Currently, there is a grey area in the current demerit points system, with an article on drive.com.au stating double demerit point driving offences can have a very different result, depending on which state the driver is from.

Robert Bell, Managing Director at Highway Advocates Pty Ltd, wants change and more clarification on the demerit points system.

“It’s all a bit grey at the moment, it’s not a system where you can look up and see exactly what happened,” Mr Bell told Dee Dee.
