The league has been accused of not meeting expectations from players and fans.

Kysaiah Pickett was given a two-game ban for a vicious bump on Bailey Smith, while Lance Franklin was handed a one-game suspension for a weekend bump.

Shane McAdam is yet to learn his fate at the tribunal for his weekend indiscretion.

Long-time football journalist Jon Anderson said on 3AW Breakfast if you asked the average fan about Pickett and Franklin, a majority would say both got off lightly.

“They’re so out of touch with it, it’s embarrassing,” Ando said.
