David Schwarz backs AFL stance on staff betting and tipping
Responsible gambling advocate David Schwarz has backed the AFL after it moved to restrict some staff on betting and tipping.

The restriction also dictates that staff can’t make bets between themselves and to avoid tipping competitions.
The former Demon legend told Neil Mitchell its about protecting the integrity of the game.
“I think with the … umpiring debacle with the Brownlow last year they’ve been spooked a little bit and they just want to put a blanket over it and footy tipping’s collateral damage,” he said on 3AW Mornings.
“I don’t think tipping as such is an issue.
“But certainly any staff member at the AFL, not to be gambling, I think is a good thing for the image and protection of the integrity of the game.”
