Nationals MP and member for Ovens Valley, Tim McCurdy, has delivered a plea to the developer looking to cut down some ‘iconic’ trees on the entrance to Bright, not go ahead with it.

Developer and CEO of the Deague Group, Andrew Deague, is looking to build a new estate, meaning some trees on the Great Alpine Road heading into Bright are in jeopardy, much to McCurdy’s disappointment.

“These trees are iconic, when you come to those trees, you know you’re in Bright,” McCurdy told Neil Mitchell.

“It’s going to be a terrible sight, and really ruin what that vista is now.”
