Junior doctors around the nation with an interest in rural medicine can now apply for a $1500 dollar bursary.
Rural Doctor’s Association Chief Executive Peta Rutherfield says once people experience life in the country, they’re far more likely to move there permanently.
Rural Reporter Jessica Clancy caught up with Ms Rutherfield to hear about the initiative.
