ACCC reveals the most complained about company in 2021-22
Complaints about Qantas to the consumer watchdog surged by 68 per cent in the 2021-2022 financial year.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) shows it was contacted 1780 times about Qantas — ‘the most of any company” during that period.
It’s prompted a warning from the ACCC the airline needs to do better.
“Qantas needs to do more to adequately invest in its systems, processes and people to dramatically improve its customer contact services and customer dispute resolution,” the ACCC said in a report.
Co-founder of Australian Traveller Media, Quentin Long, says he’s “not that surprised” by the complaints.
“The … thing we’ve got to remember is Qantas is the biggest carrier domestically, particularly over that period because we had Virgin coming out of receivership,” he told Ross and Russel.
