Record crowd flocks to the Australian Open
Tennis fans have flocked to the Australian Open, with day one of the tournament delivering a record crowd.
Monday was the most attended first day of the slam ever with almost 78,000 people went through the gates, about 5000 more than the previous record set in 2017.
Day two is expected to see another big crowd, but Nick Kyrgios won’t be there.
The top ranked Aussie is returning to Canberra to undergo minor surgery to correct a painful knee injury.
