How Shane Warne will be honoured at the Boxing Day Test
Both Australian and South African players will wear floppy hats at the Boxing Day Test in tribute to Shane Warne.
Victorian Sport Minister Steve Dimopoulos says the tribute will be “something very special” and crowds are encouraged to also don white floppy hats and zinc cream across their noses.
Mr Dimopoulos told 3AW’s Heidi Murphy, filling in for Tom Elliott, the players will also be paying tribute to Shane Warne in other ways.
“The players are keeping some things under wraps, they’re going to do some things on the field to celebrate and honour Shane Warne. If you think about it, this is the first opportunity, the first Test after his passing,” he said.
More than 60,000 tickets have already been sold.
