More than half of Australians think festive season burnout started early this year.

A new study from LinkedIn has found 53 per cent of Australians are feeling the “Christmas Crawl” — the pre-holiday period where workers struggle with multi-tasking and experiencing burnout.

Senior news editor at LinkedIn, Cayla Dengate, says “people are feeling exhausted”.

“A lot of industries have had skills shortages which means people have been jumping in and doing additional jobs and overtime and really we’re all people, we can’t keep up this rate forever so people are really starting to feel those signs of burnout,” she told Jacqui Felgate and Jimmy Bartel, filling in for Ross and Russel.

“During lockdowns and working from home during the pandemic we knew there was that real blurring of professional and personal lives.

“It’s little things like that that can really lead to burnout for many of us.”
