Melbourne will be home to a new Zac Efron movie early next year.

Efron and wrestler John Cena are set to star in the comedy Ricky Stanicky in 2023, which will be filmed in Melbourne in March.

Tony Jones, filling in on 3AW Mornings, revealed he got a letter from a location scout about potentially using his house to film part of the movie.

“What happened was, we got a letter, I thought it was a hoax,” he explained.

“We got a letter from a lovely lady who is scoping houses and she said we think yours could be suitable.”

Tony’s daughter was mortified but he wasn’t keen to pursue it.
