A war veteran will be recognised this weekend, more than seven decades after his service.

Charles William Michael Kellett – known as ‘Barney’ – was denied medals due to a bureaucratic decision.

“In my eyes, he is a hero and has got the right to wear his medals and now after 77 years, he’s going to be able to do that,” veterans advocate Iain Findlay explained on 3AW.
