A 3AW Drive listener has been left shocked after he was told he’d have to pay a $1160 fee, just to submit an offer on a property he was interested in buying.

The agent wouldn’t submit the offer without it.

“I’ve never heard of anything like this before,” Paul said.

Quentin Kilian, CEO Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV), said it was essentially a good-will gesture.
