7.55PM: Swing against Labor happening ‘in all the wrong places’ for the Liberals

Senior politics lecturer at Deakin University Dr Geoffrey Robinson thinks “We’re certainly lookin at a swing against the government overall”.

Dr Robinson says it’s a swing that’s concentrated in the north and west.

“I think that’s the problem the Liberal Party have got at the moment — the swings against Labor, to a degree, are happening in the wrong places and it seems, for example, there were swings for Labor in some of the eastern suburban areas like Box Hill and Glen Waverley, Bayswater and so on, which are of course a challenge for the Liberals to hold.”
