Why John Pesutto is having another crack at politics
John Pesutto says he’s learned a lot over the last four years he’s spent out of parliament.
The Liberal candidate for Hawthorn was ousted in the last state election by Labor’s John Kennedy in a result that shocked many, including Kennedy himself.

Mr Pesutto also addressed rumours he’d be the next leader of the Liberal Party, should Matthew Guy lose and step aside.
“I just can’t think beyond Saturday,” he told Neil Mitchell.
“I really can’t.”
But he said there was no doubt being a senior voice in the party was something he’d be interested in, should the cards fall his way.
“I’ve always been open about that,” he said.
